WILL SMITH | Time Out Comedy Award winner
“Fantastic… Faultless… Genius… Brilliant… Magnificent” THE OBSERVER
Despite - or perhaps because of sharing a name with one of the biggest/most irritating (take your pick) stars in the universe, Will Smith is one of the most lauded stand-up comedians in the world today.
Winner of the 2004 Time Out Best Comedian Award, he won the comedy website bible Chortle Best Headliner prize for 2005 and was even praised by those people on the rather high brow South Bank Show.
"Definately a class act" CHORTLE
His debut solo show at Edinburgh in 2003 saw him invited to perform a sell-out run in London's West End at the Soho Theatre, and being asked to co-present Wife For William for Channel 4.
Will returned to Edinburgh with his much acclaimed sell-out show 10 Arguments I Should Have Won, which toured the UK and saw him invited to appear at the Royal Variety Show. Since then he has performed a total of 4 Edinburgh Fringe shows, written two books, and worked on various radio and television shows.
A regular contributor on BBC3's new topical comedy show 7 Days, he also appeared with Johnny Vegas and Paul Whitehouse in the acclaimed BBC sitcom Happiness, aswell as appearing in the multi-award winning sitcom The Thick Of Itas inept Tory researcher Phil Smith. For his sins, was also a regular reporter for CH 4's Richard and Judy.
“Smith's material is gold...tear-jerkingly funny." METRO
