Russell Kane

RUSSELL KANE  | Edinburgh Comedy Award winner

“More energy than a box of Duracell-powered frogs” THE SUNDAY TIMES

Russell Kane is without doubt one of the rising stars of British comedy. Having won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for his show Smokescreens and Castles in 2010, and securing a regular space on ITV's prime time programme Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford it is only a matter of time until Kane is a household name. You may also have seen Russell appearing on Live at The Apollo, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 cats or Dave's One Night Stand.

"A comic powering towards the top of his game" CHORTLE

Russell's story is an interesting one, and has certainly helped shape his comedy. Raised, and as Kane likes to point out paradoxically lowered, on an Enfield council estate, by his Essex born parents, Kane was an uninspired student and having failed his exams got a job in a shop. A few years later he returned to his studies and eventually earned himself First in English. An interest in drama led Russell to first try Stand-Up as a hobby, and in 2004 he won The Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition, the rest is history.

“Laughs come thick and fast as Kane effortlessly wins the audience over… His observational comedy is generous, acerbic and intelligent and he performs with an ease and fluidity which many other stand ups would envy” THE STAGE
