Stand Up Comedians

Alistair Barrie

ALISTAIR BARRIE   |  “Brilliantly funny” CHORTLE

Actor and stand-up Alistair Barrie first rose to prominence with his sell-out 2002 debut Edinburgh show The Uncertainty Principle - (**** Metro). Having taken a year out from Fringe madness to get married in Ireland (for which he received lots of new material and some Waterford Glass) Alistair continued to consolidate his position in 2003 as one of the rising stars of the national and international circuit, with acclaimed performances at both the Reading and Leeds festivals and headlining shows in Jakarta and Singapore. Alistair has also performed throughout the UK and Ireland and as far afield as Amsterdam, New York, Dubai, Brussels, the Channel Islands, Sydney and Melbourne.

Throughout 2003/4 Alistair also appeared in a high profile advertising campaign across Europe and Asia as the face of Avaya, market leader in the worldwide telecommunications industry.

Recent global events have inspired a wide range of subject matter for this highly topical comedian, who can nonetheless 'drop from the highbrow to the gutter in the draw of a breath' (Metro) when the need arises. Combining a wide range of material and an easy rapport with any audience continues to make Alistair 'a name to look out for' (BBC GLR) in the coming year.

Alistair has recently appeared in Green Wing (Channel 4) and on Radio Ulster's popular panel show The Blame Game.
